The New York Economic Development Corporation (EDC) faced significant challenges in managing energy use, costs, and carbon emissions across its extensive and diverse portfolio of 400 buildings. Compliance with benchmarking standards, mandated audits, and stringent energy regulations, such as Local Law 97, added further complexity.

Energy conservation recommendations now include detailed metrics on carbon and energy reductions, as well as key financial indicators such as ROI, Payback Period, Savings to Investment Ratio, and Net Present Value.
