The Roadmap to Decarbonization ft. the NYC Economic Development Corporation - Thursday, November 7 at 1pm CT | 2pm ET

As organizations advance toward decarbonization, having a structured approach is key. Join us for an insightful webinar on Thursday, November 7 at 1pm CT | 2pm ET, where we’ll explore the Roadmap to Decarbonization—from establishing a data baseline and operationalizing insights to prioritizing and implementing initiatives.

Hear from Matt Landin, VP of Energy & Asset Management at NYC Economic Development Corporation (EDC), as he shares the challenges NYC EDC faced in its decarbonization journey. Join  buildee®, WatchWire by Tango, and EDC to gain first-hand insights on procuring the right tools and data to drive real progress in emissions reduction and sustainability.

The New York Economic Development Corporation (EDC) faced significant challenges in managing energy use, costs, and carbon emissions across its extensive and diverse portfolio of 400 buildings. Compliance with benchmarking standards, mandated audits, and stringent energy regulations, such as Local Law 97, added further complexity.

To address these challenges, EDC implemented buildee® to standardize the process of tracking assets within their portfolio and to enhance capital planning. EDC then partnered with an engineering firm to use buildee for cataloging building equipment data and identifying energy-saving measures. buildee® integrated seamlessly with Watchwire to consolidate utility data, as well as an integration with PowerBI that enabled EDC leadership to view capital planning holistically, incorporating both energy and non-energy-related investments. All data was stored in buildee® for ongoing use and analysis.

This comprehensive solution enabled EDC to standardize data collection and recommendations, generating actionable insights across their portfolio. Energy conservation recommendations now include detailed metrics on carbon and energy reductions, as well as key financial indicators such as ROI, Payback Period, Savings to Investment Ratio, and Net Present Value. This approach supports more holistic capital planning, optimizing their capital retrofit budget.
